Colombo (News1st) - The Convener of the National People's Council, Chameera Perera, convened a press briefing yesterday. "What can the country expect from the Rajapaksa family? " he asked. He stated that the Rajapaksas left the Meethotamulla garbage dump and chased away the poor including villagers, and sold their lands to multi-national companies. He highlighted those as "Mahinda Rajapaksa's track record". He further emphasized that Goabhaya's "track record" is well known to people where he sold the defence headquarters to Shangri-La and in the end moved that headquarters to Battaramulla where they gave the contract to a close ally. They gave the protection of the seas to a close ally, the owner of the Avante Garde group, he added. He reasoned if people would want the American citizen who went and signed agreements opening Sri Lanka to Americans based on agreements signed in 2010, to be the president.
