University student protest causes traffic blocks in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st): Colombo experienced heavy traffic today (March 25) due to a protest staged by University students in Colombo. Traffic in Colombo Fort and other surrounding areas were affected in the demonstration which was organized by the Inter University Students Federation. The demonstration commenced from the University of Kelaniya and reached Colombo Fort through Baseline road. The demonstration was staged to protest against the government, for not initiating any steps to address the prevailing issues in universities and to voice their opposition against the counter-terrorism act.
