University under Industry Minister : Nowhere else in the world

Colombo (News 1st): MP Bandula Gunawardena today (March 21) revealed in Parliament, that for the first time in history universities are now under the Ministry of Industry. He was speaking on the gazette notification which reports that the University of Vocational Technology has been placed under the Ministry of Industry. He termed this move as a crime, highlighting the fact, nowhere in the world has vocational training been placed with a Ministry of Industry. Minister P. Harrison speaking in Parliament said that if an error had been made, the matter will be referred to the cabinet of ministers.
