COLOMBO (News 1st) – A collection of books by Martin Wickramasinghe was gifted to Parliament yesterday(February 26).
This collection of books was presented to the Speaker by the Board of Custodians of the Martin Wickramasinghe Trust at an event held at the Speaker’s Office in parliament.
Karu Jayasuriya shared his views upon receiving the book collection. He noted that Martin Wickramasinghe was a prominent writer in Sri Lankan literature. He was a master at delivering strong messages to the public through his books.
He noted that soon to be published book named “Praja-Palana Shikshana” which Martin Wickramasinghe could not publish in his lifetime is exactly what the country needs due to ongoing political turmoil.
