Murder suspect apprehended after 9 years

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A man suspected of shooting a man in the Puttalam Town was arrested by police after 09 years. Puttalam Police arrested the suspect on Wednesday (Feb 6) after he was spotted at a private hospital in Puttalam. Following interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect had disposed of the firearm in the Nelukkulam lake, Puttalam. Divers of Sri Lanka Navy carried out a search operation at Nelukkulam lake last morning(February 07). The firearm is yet to be recovered. The Puttalam Magistrates Court placed the suspect in remand custody until February 21st.
