Colombo (News1st): Locals in Madurapitiya, Mirigama charge their crops are being destroyed due to the construction activities of the second phase of the Central Expressway. The residents charge that the local companies designated to construct the stretch from Meerigama to Rilalouwa are polluting the environment. They claim that the waterways of their paddy fields have been blocked due to the construction activities. The farmers allege that this has resulted in lack of water for cultivation activities.
