Ex-PTA Detainee Hejaaz's Message to Suresh Salley

COLOMBO (News 1st); Attorney-at-Law Hejaaz Hizbullah says that if Suresh Sallay is innocent, he must fight his case strongly.

Hejaaz Hizbullah was arrested on April 14, 2020, under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, over allegations of links to extremists involved in the Easter Sunday attacks, and was held under detention orders for 21 months.

He was released by court on February 7, 2022.

Here is the response given by Attorney-at-Law Hejaaz Hizbullah regarding Suresh Sallay:

“If he is innocent, Salley must stay strong and fight his case. That's we did. We prayed, exercised, read, met our lawyers, and fought our cases. Salley who detained us knows that the conditions for us were worse than what it is for him The fight to repeal the PTA is not won by running away from it but in confronting it.”
