COLOMBO (News 1st) – Health minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne has informed Heath Secretary B. G. S Gunathilaka to suspend the payment of salaries to doctors and nurses who have been transferred and have failed to report to their duties so far.

A spokesperson for the Health Ministry stated that the Subject minister has also instructed for disciplinary measures to be taken against hospital directors who fail to release their transferred employees.

Further, the spokesperson added that steps have been taken to suspend the funding of hospitals and awarding of promotions of directors who fail to release their transferred employees.
