Suspect Arrested Over Rs. 35 Million Bank Theft in Horana

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police say, A suspect was arrested in connection with the theft of Rs. 35 million from a state bank in Horana.

Police added that Rs. 17 million of the stolen money was also recovered from the suspect.

The Western Province North Crime Division is conducting further investigations into the incident. 

According to police, at around 2:45 p.m. yesterday, an individual who had arrived on foot allegedly stole two bags containing cash while they were being taken from the bank to be transported to two other branches.

Further investigations are underway.
