Attempted Fraud at Sri Lanka Cricket to be investigated by CID

Colombo (News1st): The Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara has ordered for the investigation on the attempted fraud at Sri Lanka Cricket be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department. It was revealed yesterday that there was a fraudulent attempt to transfer 880 million Sri Lankan rupees of SLC's Media Rights Sponsorship Funds to an offshore account. SLC CEO Ashley De Silva filed a complaint with the Police FCID concerning the matter and taking the complaint into consideration the IGP had made the order to move the investigations to the CID.
