The Parliament session which was postponed yesterday (September 06), is scheduled to be held today at 10:00 AM. The session was adjourned yesterday due to lack of quorum as only 16 MP's were present in Parliament.
The United National Party (UNP) celebrated its 72nd anniversary yesterday. In his address to the convention, the leader of the UNP, Ranil Wickremesinghe hinted at remaining as leader of the UNP till 2030.

Over 15 million tablets of a narcotic substance have been seized from a freight container at the Colombo Port. The pill has been identified as Tramadol, which is a painkiller.
