Colombo (News 1st) - Parliament was adjourned till tomorrow on Thursday (Sep 7) due to lack of quorum. There were only 16 MPs in the Parliamentary chamber this morning. They included Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri, 08 MP's from the Ruling party and 07 MP's from the Opposition. A daily parliamentary sitting costs Rs.4.4 Million and today's sitting lasted only 12 minutes. This is not the first time a parliament session has been postponed due to the lack of quorum. The question arises as to why the representatives of the public do not attend the Parliamentary sessions held in order to discuss the public's issues. Is it because these politicians are heartless and inconsiderate when it comes to the citizens of this country? or have we not elected the proper representatives for us?
