Prison launches probe into Aloysius's phone found in remand custody

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special investigation has been launched with regard to the mobile phones and Sim cards, that were found in the ward of the remand prison in which Beneficial Owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius, and its CEO, Kasun Palisena are being held. Prison's Media Spokesperson, Thushara Upuldeniya said, a team consisting of officers from the Prison Intelligence Unit, is conducting the investigation. In addition to this, another investigation has also been launched, headed by the Prison Superintendent. Upuldeniya said the investigation will be conducted covering several aspects, including as to how the mobile phones were used, and how they got them into the Prison Ward. Based on the investigation reports, a decision will be taken on whether to transfer them to another ward or to another Prison. The Fort Magistrate ordered the duo to be further remanded until the 19th of this month.
