The Consumer Affairs Authority has initiated raids to nab traders who had not reduced to the prices of goods, as mentioned in the interim budget.
Director General J.M.A. Douglas noted that raids will be carried out in district level. He stated that legal action will be taken against vendors who have failed to comply with the reduction of prices.
Douglas noted that the objective of this move is to ensure that the people are able to purchase the goods of which the prices were reduced by the recent budget.
He went on to say that traders who do not comply with this process will be brought before the law adding that Cases will be filed starting today against traders who do comply with this price reduction.
