Minister of Health, Maithripala Sirisena says that he hopes to release a national policy on alcohol in November.
The minister made this statement at a function held at the Bomriya Central College.
Susil Premajayantha, the Environment and Renewable Energy was also presented at this event.
Minister of Health, Maithirpala Sirisena expressed the following views:
[quote]We took a decision on cigarettes. And within the next month we will issue a national policy on alcohol. We hope to create an alcohol free society that is healthy. This will also include rules and regulations of the use and manufacturing of alcohol in the country. I am not sure where the end of this initiative will be. I know what happened when I laid a hand on cigarettes. [/quote]
