9 Million Vehicle Records Under Analysis Following Seizure

COLOMBO (News1st); Analysis of the data system obtained from the Narahenpita main office of the Department of Motor Traffic has commenced under the direction of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit.

Police stated that data analysts are currently carrying out this analysis at a secure location.

Maintained by the Department of Motor Traffic since 1995, the system contains records for approximately 9 million vehicles and was seized pursuant to a court order.

In addition, following an order issued by the Panadura Magistrate's Court, the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit seized this data system last Friday.

This was carried out with the participation of officials from the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT), professors from the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), scientists from Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), and officers of the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit
