Duminda Dissanayake, Another Accused Indicted Over Gold-Colored T-56 Firearm

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake and another woman have been indicted in connection with the discovery of a gold-colored firearm at the Havelock City apartment complex in Wellawatte.

The indictments were served when the case was taken up today before Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga.

Following the serving of the indictments, the judge ordered the release of the two accused on bail.

Accordingly, each accused was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two surety bails of Rs. 2 million each.

The Attorney General filed indictments before the Colombo High Court on August 5 against Duminda Dissanayake and another woman over the discovery of a gold-colored T-56 firearm at the Havelock City apartment complex in Wellawatte.

Duminda Dissanayake was arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division on May 23, 2025, in connection with the incident, and investigations were subsequently conducted.
