Namal Moved To Colombo Remand Prison

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna National Organizer and Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa has been remanded until 18th of September and is currently being held at the Colombo Remand Prison.

He was arrested yesterday (4th) afternoon by officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The arrest was made when he appeared to provide a statement in an investigation into an alleged Rs. 100 million bribe involving the purchase of aircraft for SriLankan Airlines.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered that Namal Rajapaksa be remanded until 18th of September.
