Sri Lanka Welcomes Over 1.46 Million Tourists So Far in 2026

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A total of 1,468,980 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka so far this year.

The highest number of tourist arrivals have been recorded from India with 366,114 Indian tourists visiting Sri Lanka.

144,381 tourists have arrived from the United Kingdom, while 97,073 tourists have arrived from China.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority said 125,562 tourists have arrived in the country so far this month.

The highest number of arrivals was recorded from India during this month with 27,884 Indian tourists visiting Sri Lanka.

The highest number of monthly tourist arrivals so far this year was recorded in February, with 279,328 tourists visiting the country.
