Sri Lanka's Rumesha Tharanga To Compete In Lausanne Diamond League Tonight

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist and javelin thrower Rumesha Tharanga is set to compete in the Lausanne leg of the 2026 Diamond League Athletics Series tonight.

Tharanga currently sits second in the world rankings, behind Germany’s Julian Weber.

With the exception of Weber, the other leading athletes in the world rankings are also expected to compete in the Lausanne event, making it a highly competitive field.

The men’s javelin throw is scheduled to get underway at 11:52 p.m. Sri Lanka time.
