Strong Wind and Rough Sea Warning Issued

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory warning of strong winds and rough sea conditions in the sea areas extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota, and from Chilaw to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar.

The department stated that wind speeds in the sea areas off these coastal regions could increase up to 50 kilometres per hour at times.

The Department of Meteorology has urged the fishing and naval communities to remain vigilant and exercise caution when engaging in activities at sea due to the expected adverse weather conditions.
