Mother of Detained Crime Figure Bako Saman Killed in Targeted Attack

COLOMBO (News 1st); A woman was shot dead in the Ulhitiyawa area of Middeniya this evening in what police suspect may be linked to an ongoing feud between organized criminal groups.

The victim has been identified as the mother of "Bako Saman," also known as "Backhoe Saman", who is currently being held at the Boossa High Security Prison.

According to police, the shooting took place at around 6.00 p.m. when two unidentified individuals arrived at the location on a motorcycle and opened fire using a pistol before fleeing the scene.

The woman sustained fatal injuries in the attack and died as a result of the shooting.
