COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been ordered by the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court to appear before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court on 29th and provide evidence via an online link to the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court in connection with the ongoing case into the alleged abduction and disappearance of Lalith Kumar Weeraraj and Kugan Muruganandan.
The order was issued when the case was taken up today before Jaffna Chief Magistrate S. Lenin Kumar.
The case relates to the disappearance of Lalith Kumar Weeraraj and Kugan Muruganandan, who were allegedly abducted in the Avarangal area of Jaffna on December 10, 2011.
At the time of the incident, Gotabaya Rajapaksa was serving as Sri Lanka’s Defence Secretary.
