New Digital System to Monitor Passenger Buses

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Commission has announced that a new digital system will be introduced to monitor passenger transport buses.

The Commission said that arrangements have been made to fully monitor buses throughout the entire journey, from the commencement of the trip until its completion.

The new digital monitoring system is expected to be implemented in passenger transport buses within this year.

Through this system, several aspects, including bus performance, passenger safety conditions, the conduct of drivers and conductors, vehicle speed, and stopping locations, will be monitored.

The National Transport Commission further stated that if any activities violating regulations are detected through this process, necessary action will be taken, including issuing penalty points to the relevant buses and cancelling their operating permits.
