COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Irrigation says there is sufficient water in the country's major reservoirs to supply drinking water to areas until October.
H.M.P.S.D. Herath Director of Irrigation (Water Management) said water stored in all reservoirs managed by the Department has declined to 42% of total capacity.
According to Herath, reservoirs in the Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Ampara districts are currently at just 24% capacity.
