COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police say two Chinese nationals arrested over the abduction and murder of another Chinese national in Colombo Port City are scheduled to appear in an identification parade today (27).

The suspects, who are currently in remand custody, are also due to be produced before court today.

Police investigations have revealed that both suspects are members of a group involved in cybercrime.

According to police, the incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, the 22nd of July when three Chinese nationals were fishing on a bridge in Colombo Port City.

A group of other Chinese nationals allegedly arrived in a van, assaulted the three men, tied up their hands and legs, and abducted one of them.

The victim's body was later discovered in Karadana, Eheliyagoda.

The post-mortem examination concluded that the victim died from injuries to internal organs caused by multiple stab wounds.

Police said they will seek a court order to repatriate the victim's body to China through the Chinese Embassy. 

Investigations have also revealed that the deceased, identified as Hao Song, was allegedly involved in cybercrime activities.
