Body Found in Poddala Identified as Associate of Organised Criminal

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police say the body found near the Wakwella Bridge in Poddala has been identified as a close associate of an organised criminal known as “Podi Lassi.”

Police added investigations are underway into the incident.

The body was discovered near the Wakwella Bridge in Poddala, Galle, last Tuesday. 

Police said the victim’s face was severely mutilated, making identification difficult, while the hands and feet were tied.

The body has been placed at the Galle National Hospital mortuary for further examinations.
