COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Dengue Control Unit says legal action has been taken against more than 2,000 premises identified as potential mosquito breeding sites.
Community Physician Specialist Prasheela Samaraweera says that school premises have been among the most frequently identified locations where dengue mosquitoes breed during the Dengue Prevention Programmes conducted to date.
A total of 42,807 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.
Twenty-seven dengue-related deaths have been recorded.
Females accounting for 77.8% of the fatalities have been reported .
Community Physician Specialist Prasheela Samaraweera outlined the progress of the Special Dengue Control Programme, which has entered it's Fourth Day.
