Former Sri Lanka President Gotabaya's Ex-Aide Arrested in Double Salary Scandal

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sugeeshwara Bandara, who served as the Private Secretary to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has been arrested by the Colombo Central Crimes Investigations Bureau.

Police stated that while serving as the Private Secretary to Gotabaya Rajapaksa during his presidency, Sugeeshwara Bandara had allegedly received two separate government salaries.

According to investigators, in addition to drawing a salary as the Presidential Private Secretary, Sugeeshwara Bandara had also simultaneously received a second salary in his capacity as a Project Director.
