University Cut-Off Marks for 2025/2026 Academic Year Expected in Early August - UGC

COLOMBO (News 1st) – According to the University Grants Commission (UGC) A total of 92,043 students have applied to state universities based on the results of the most recent G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. 

Vice Chairman of UGC, Prof. Wasantha Liyanage says the cut-off marks for admissions to the 2025/2026 academic year are expected to be released during the first week of August.

42,937 students are expected to be selected for admission to state universities.

Professor Liyanage stated that the selected students are scheduled to be enrolled during the second, third, and fourth weeks of August 2026.

Academic activities at the universities are expected to begin during the early weeks of September, depending on the relevant institution.
