Suspended Finance Ministry Official Ranga Rajapaksa Laid To Rest In Kuliyapitiya

COLOMBO (News 1st); The final rites of Ranga Rajapaksha, Acting Director of the Department of External Resources at the Ministry of Finance, who passed away after he was suspended from his role at the Ministry, was observed today. 

The mortal remains of Ranga Rajapaksha,was placed at his home in the Lower Weerambuwa area of Kuliyapitiya. 

Area Residents, relatives, and government officials were among those who gathered to pay their last respects. 

Following religious observances, the final rites were conducted at the Weerambuwa Public Cemetery in Kuliyapitiya.

Ranga Rajapaksha, a 50-year-old father of two, was found dead behind his house in Kuliyapitiya while he was under suspension in connection with the alleged theft of USD 2.5 million from the Treasury by cybercriminals.
