COLOMBO (News 1st): A 9mm pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the backyard of Karandeniye Raju's house in Meetiyagoda.
Police said the weapon, believed to have been manufactured in Russia, was discovered buried at the property during a search operation carried out this morning.
Officers from the Central Crime Investigation Bureau brought the suspect to the location as part of ongoing investigations.
Karandeniya Raju, the brother of organized criminal Karandeniye Sudda, was recently arrested in India and extradited to Sri Lanka over multiple alleged crimes.
He is currently being interrogated under a 90-day detention order, police added.
