National Oil-Anointing Rituals Performed at Auspicious Time; President Participates in State Oil-Anointing Ceremony in Kandy

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The auspicious time for the oil-anointing ritual, observed to invoke good health during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, fell this morning.
The State Oil-Anointing Ceremony was held today with the participation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Sri Maha Natha Devalaya premises within the historic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.
According to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year almanac, the oil-anointing ritual was scheduled for 6.55 a.m. today.
