Petrol QR System Suspended Until April 18; Fuel Shipment to Arrive Tomorrow

The QR system for petrol will be temporarily suspended from midnight today(11) until midnight on April 18.

However, the CPC confirmed that there will be no changes to the QR system for diesel during this period.

CPC Managing Director Mayura Netthikumarage said that a furnace oil shipment of 30,000 metric tonnes is scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow. 

The stock will be used for electricity generation. 

He also noted that discussions on importing Russian oil will continue under several existing agreements.
