COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has re- instructed all fuel stations to refrain from issuing fuel outside of the prescribed fuel quotas.

Managing Director of CPC Mayura Neththikumarage says that the public is requested to use fuel sparingly during the upcoming festive season.

According to Neththikumarage a shipment carrying 32,000 Metric Tonnes of Diesel and 8,000 Metric Tonnes of Jet-A1 fuel will reach the island tomorrow.

Additionally two more shipments will reach the country on the 6-7th and 7-8th of April.

Neththikumarage stated that fuel stocks for the first weeks of April have already been secured and assured that sufficient fuel stocks are available for the festive season.

Meanwhile, the CPC has decided to issue fuel to both odd and even license plate holders today after considering multiple factors such as today being a Poya holiday, the need to test the efficiency of the fuel distribution process, and the fact that both odd and even groups are entitled to two days each under the updated fuel quota.
