COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has provided 400,000 liters of fuel to registered tour operators under a special QR system for the tourism sector.
Its Chairman, Buddhika Hewawasam, said the allocation includes 200,000 liters of diesel and 200,000 liters of petrol, in addition to 120,000 liters of fuel for hotels.
He noted that daily tourist arrivals, which were previously between 8,000–8,500, have now dropped to 6,000–6,500.
Despite the recent fuel price hike, tour operators have maintained current tourist package prices, planning to adjust only in the next season with new packages.
