COLOMBO (News 1st): Dharmayuddhaya 2 has officially become the highest-grossing film in Sri Lankan cinema history, achieving this milestone solely through domestic ticket sales.
Since its island-wide release on January 23rd, the film has taken the industry by storm. Within just 10 days, it earned a record-breaking 100 million rupees, and continued to draw audiences with remarkable consistency, generating an additional 100 million rupees every 10 days.
In just 50 days, Dharmayuddhaya 2 crossed the 500 million rupee mark, setting a new benchmark for Sinhala cinema and becoming the first film in the country to reach this milestone solely from local ticket sales. Yasarath Kamalsiri, the CEO of MTV Channel Private Limited, serves as the Executive Producer of this record breaking movie.
