Suresh Salley to be Questioned Under 90-day Detention Order

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Permission has been granted to question former State Intelligence Service Director, retired Major General Suresh Salley, under a 90-day detention order in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Salley was arrested on February 25 in Peliyagoda by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

At the time of the 21 April 2019 attacks, Salley, then serving as a Brigadier, was attached to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Malaysia as an adviser. 

Before that appointment, he served as the Director of Military Intelligence.

Police stated that the arrest was carried out based on independent evidence uncovered during the ongoing investigation.
