COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath will undertake a visit to Germany from 26–27 February 2026 to participate in a series of meetings related to trade and foreign employment.
The visit follows an invitation extended by the German‑Asia Pacific Business Association (OAV) Bremen Chapter.
During the visit, the Minister will attend events marking the 125th Anniversary of the Bremen Chapter of the Asia Pacific Business Association. He will participate as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker from Asia.
Germany’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Johann Wadephul, will serve as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker from Germany.
The OAV is the largest German association dedicated to promoting German‑Asian business relationships, bringing together business leaders and policymakers focused on strengthening ties with the Asia‑Pacific region.
Minister Herath is also scheduled to hold discussions with Minister Wadephul and take part in a business roundtable on Sri Lanka during his visit.
