COLOMBO(News 1st); The Railway Department says that train services between Colombo Fort and Puttalam will be fully resumed from today.
The Railway Department said that the damage caused to the railway line by Cyclone Ditwah has been repaired and completed.
Train services on the Puttalam line, which were temporarily suspended following the disaster, were previously resumed in several stages.
However, train services between Chilaw and Puttalam had not been operating so far.
This was due to severe damage to the railway line, including the washing away of tracks near the Battalu Oya bridge located between those railway stations.
