16,000 Saplings to Be Planted Nationwide for Independence Day

COLOMBO (News 1st); A programme to plant 16,000 saplings across the island, in line with National Independence Day, was launched yesterday.

The event was held under the patronage of Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala.

The Sri Lanka Police is expected to implement this programme in all police divisions islandwide.

Under the first phase, saplings required for tree-planting were distributed to 126 police stations in the Western Province.
