Gazette Issued on New Regulations for Female Night-Shift Employees

COLOMBO (News1st): An extraordinary gazette notification has been issued regarding the employment of female sanitation workers and food service workers over the age of 18, between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

The gazette was issued under the signature of the Minister of Labour, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.

According to the gazette, the employer must provide suitable accommodation or transport facilities to the employee's residence during or after the shift hours.

Additionally, the employer is held responsible for the health, safety, and general welfare of these employees.
