Police Open Fire On Reckless Tipper Truck In Kilinochchi

COLOMBO (News 1st) -Sri Lanka Police has opened fire on a tipper truck driving recklessly in Dharmapuram, Kilinochchi.

According to police, the tipper truck, which had come from Dharmapuram, was signaled to stop near the Puliyangpokkane roadblock but had ignored the warning and continued driving.

The shooting had damaged the rear wheels of the truck, however the driver continued for about two kilometers without stopping.

The tipper truck was later found abandoned in the Kandavali area, and the suspect driver had fled the scene.

Reports indicate that the truck was carrying three sand cubes without a proper license.

Police investigations are underway to arrest the suspected driver and the owner of the tipper truck who had fled.
