Close Associate of Overseas Drug Kingpins Arrested with 3kg of Ice in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st): A close associate of large-scale drug traffickers Welioya Priyantha and SF Jagath, both currently overseas, has been arrested with a large stock of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) during a Police Special Task Force (STF) operation.

The STF said the suspect was arrested while riding a motorcycle during a special operation carried out using a makeshift roadblock at Ridgeway Place, Bambalapitiya.

Following further interrogation, officers conducted a search at a house located on Ranjan Wijerathnapura Mawatha, Wellawatte, where 3 kilograms and 16 grams of ice along with two digital weighing scales were recovered.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect was allegedly managing and operating the local drug distribution network on behalf of Welioya Priyantha and SF Jagath from within Sri Lanka.
