Suspected WWII Ammo Found at Ratmalana School

COLOMBO (News 1st); A startling discovery was made yesterday (12) at The School for the Deaf, Ratmalana, where workers unearthed a cache of ammunition believed to date back to World War II.

Police reported that the find occurred during routine clearing of garbage on the school premises. 

The ammunition, suspected to be rounds used in machine guns, was immediately secured by authorities.

The cache will be handed over to the Government Analyst’s Department for detailed examination and verification.
