CID Probes Ishara Sewwandi’s Birthday Party Claim

COLOMBO(News 1st); The investigation into the alleged birthday party of Ishara Sewwandi, a prime suspect in the murder of organized criminal Ganemulla Sanjeewa, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department and the Police Special Investigation Unit.

Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler, stated that investigations have already begun.

Ishara Sewwandi is currently being questioned at the Colombo Crimes Division under detention orders.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo Crimes Division has been transferred to the Police Special Task Force Headquarters after it was revealed that a cake had been brought to the premises to celebrate the suspect’s birthday.
