COLOMBO (News1st): Plans are afoot to commence the reconstruction of elephant fences across the island today, following the devastation caused to them by Cyclone Ditwah.
The Minister of Environment, Dr. Dhammika Patabendi, says that 838 kilometers of elephant fences were destroyed nationwide due to the disaster.
The primary districts where the fences were destroyed include Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Kurunegala, and Puttlam.
