All Equity Trades Before Halt Cancelled

COLOMBO (News 1st); Colombo Stock Exchange closed shortly after 2 PM on Wednesday (7) following temporary halt in trading.

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) temporarily halted trading today after detecting irregular prices in certain transactions of Wealthtrust Securities Limited during the morning session.

CSE stated that the move was necessary to ensure a fair and orderly market, as the irregular trades may have impacted investor buying power.

The CSE, in concurrence with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), announced that all equity transactions carried out prior to the market halt will be cancelled.

Since all previous orders have been removed, investors will need to re-enter their orders into the Order Management System (OMS) once trading resumes.
