Sri Lanka Railways Adds School Trains, Resumes Tourist Services

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Railways has announced the addition of two special trains dedicated to school students, aiming to ease travel in the hill country. 

One train will operate between Nawalapitiya and Hatton, while the other will run from Kandy to Wattegama.

In a further boost to rail connectivity, the Pulathisi Intercity train service will resume operations from January 9, following a temporary suspension due to recent disaster conditions. 

Additionally, the popular Ella Odyssey tourist train is scheduled to return to service from January 7, offering scenic journeys for travelers once again.
