COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan police have uncovered a weapons stash allegedly linked to Kehelbaddara Padme, a high-profile organized crime figure currently in custody.
The discovery was made during a search operation in a room along an Enderamulla by-road in Kelaniya, following information obtained during interrogations.
Among the items seized were:
A Glock-19 high-value firearm
Two T-56 magazines
267 rounds of ammunition
Police revealed that the weapons were hidden with the knowledge of an associate of Padme, who is currently overseas.
Investigators believe the cache was part of a broader network of concealed arms stored at multiple locations.
In a separate operation, authorities neutralized a multi-day fishing vessel allegedly owned by another organized crime figure known as Dehibale.
The vessel, measuring 45 feet in length, is estimated to be worth Rs. 45 million.
